A cross-trained percussionist and drum set player, Jack Vavrinchik is an active gigging musician on the Chicago scene. Jack currently studies under Todd Howell and John Dorhauer at Elmhurst College, in the past he has studied with Matt Kellen, and Zack Marks. In addition to his musical pursuits, Jack is completing his undergraduate degrees in History and Philosophy at Elmhurst and is active in the world of undergrad research. He currently in the beginning stages of research for an independent study with Dr. William Hirstein on the topic of Music, Aesthetics, and the Mind.
Jack has spearheaded a variety of creative musical projects. Most recently, he co-founded the Alexander Art Collective, a collaborative musical organization which focuses on providing performance opportunities to musicians and performing artists. As an executive Booking Agent for the collective, Jack has conducted international outreach and has booked acts from Canada, Brazil, and the UK, in addition to the many from across the US. Jack is a trained sound technician and has worked as an engineer for PJ Floyd Productions. He enjoys his work as a professional musician in Chicago, gigging often in the city with a variety of acts including Adela’s, Ritual Summer, and The Brainstorm.
