Sam Schacker has been playing the guitar since he was eight years old. Originally from Lake Elmo, Minnesota, Sam graduated in May of 2017 from Elmhurst College with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies and Classical Guitar Performance. As a member of the Elmhurst College Jazz Band playing the Baritone Saxophone, Sam has played with such storied musicians as Doc Severinsen, The Manhattan Transfer, Patti Austin, Dennis Mackrel, Donny McCaslin, Scott Wendholt, and many others. In addition to the guitar and the saxophone, Sam also plays and teachers clarinet, bass clarinet, and bass guitar, as well as teaching music theory and composition.
